So much has been written about Nepal over the year’s phrases like The Last Shangri-La, The Hidden Kingdom, Heaven on Earth are three that have been used often in the past to describe the Nepalese experience. There is still some truth in all of these statements but they are probably best left in the history books nowadays. The country is adjusting to the rapid exposure of the outside world after only opening its borders to outsiders around sixty years ago and has had to learn very quickly the complexities of modern life. The population of Kathmandu alone has grown from around three hundred thousand twelve years ago to two million today.
Well whatever modernity has thrown at it, dig a bit deeper and the essence of the Nepal is still very much in evidence and once away from the urban centers much of the Nepalese way of life has changed very little. It is still a mythical place in many ways where religion and a unique culture are still cornerstones to the fabric of life here. Nepal’s sheer beauty is reason alone to visit and if you like mountains and adventure or keen on nature and wildlife there is nowhere else quite like it. The geographical contrast of the region has not only produced the highest place on earth but has also provided the deepest river gorge in the world. The scenary is stunning, mountain panoramas tower over forested foothills intersected by the clear rushing rivers that carve through deep mountain gorges to the plains below, add to this some of the most genuinely friendly people on earth it is not surprising that many people who have been to Nepal before often return.
We are a well established registered company in Nepal with roots here and in the U.K.. We have been working in the trekking and tourism in Nepal since 1989. What brought us together as a team in 2005 was a love for this country and a genuine desire to share our knowledge and experience with others in an effort to create and tailor and provide itineraries that suit the needs of interested people. Over the years we have been together we have developed solid and reliable networks that can be depended on and this has enabled us to provide people with perhaps a more unique experience of the country.Nepal continues to build on its infrastructure and it is a lot easier nowadays to organise and ensure the hassel free running of itineraries and the vast majority of our tours run without a hitch. Nepal however is a developing country where things work a little differently at times than what some people may have come to expect in the more developed regions of the world.
The country is governed by the Southerly monsoon which brings heavy rainfall during mid June to mid September. Essentially there are two main seasons, dry and wet. The best time to visit for mountain scenery is between late September and early June.
